You won't see anything because your windows plugin isn't doing anything yet. Just fire up your Windows DVB software with the plugin and correct IP-information and watch some channels.

If you still don't see anything, your server's IP-adres is not correct.

Try this configuration file for emubox_plugin.cfg:

Code:
server_ip=192.168.2.11
server_port=10000
If this doesn't work, then the plugin isn't able to connect to the virtual machine... the reconnect code is a bit buggy make sure CCcam is up and running before launching any DVB application using the plugin on windows!

Unlike Mediaportal, DVBDream works fine here.. any idea's why Mediaportal isnt working for me ? It seems Mediaportal isnt patient enough to wait for a key :)

Thanks for the nice plugin !

Unhappy cccam in ubuntu by vmware - 31-August-2008, 15:31

hello,

i'v installed ubuntu on vmware and cccam in ubuntu,
so far so good...
i finally managed to start cccam that already took me a lot of
effort and time apearantly i first had to handle permissions for
the cccam folder specially in the bin folder that contains run_debug.

after doing so cccam starts BUT says..cccam:cannot open /var/etc/CCcam.cfg filter is gone.....

it does not seem to be a permission thing anymore cause cccam does
start(for a second)

note: i'm using winscp as remote terminal,because when i use ubuntu's
terminal (or root terminal) i cannot get further than cd /home/peter (=my username)i should be able to get to /home/peter/ cccam/var/bin
but i'm not
with ubuntu's explorer i do can(with the mouse)

this is my first expirience with linux i came al long way but i'm very stucked now......

maybe some of you guys can help me a step further..please?

Is CCcam.cfg in place (/var/etc/)?

Use the following for the CCcam.cfg in a non-default location :

CCcam.x86 -c [location of CCcam.cfg]

Otherwise, put CCcam.cfg in /var/etc. That will start CCcam.x86 without errors.

Hey all,

This is what i've found so far :

I'm not using local cards for testing so everything is 2 hops away for the windows pc. When using a dedicated server for CCcam channels work but freeze allot (loss of keys). When i install a vmware with ubuntu on the windows machine channels keep working without freezing. I'm using DVBdream to test, with mediaportal i cant get a good speed in getting keys from the CCcam server.

Anything that can be done to speed up the session between the emubox plugin and the CCcam server ?

Thanks in advance for any hints / tips.

The networking layer isn't designed to run the linux part on a remote host. I am using TCP, UDP should provide beter throughput. It's something that is on the todo list for newer versions . There is a reason why I called it a pre beta .

Hey Silencer, that's all cool :) just trying to get the best out of this hehe. Will keep an eye on future progress !! For now it's working good with dvbdream and vmware. I should try some other combinations...
