SoftCSA.dll + DVBViewer + Vista SP1 + SS2 HD - 23-March-2008, 09:49

Hi everybody,

I read in this forum that in order for gbox to operate properly softCSA.dll must act as a bridge between gbox process and DVB application DVBviewer.

I also read about many different versions of this library but I can only find older ones (around 4/007) either in this forum or from picachu's web page.

My problem is the following:

I have gbox running in the pc talking to all the right servers.
I have DVBViewer 2.9.1 running ok playing all the FTA HD channels perfectly (Nvidia 8600GTS)
If softCSA.dll is present in the plugins dir DVBViewer cashes on start. When I remove it application is ok but no decoding only FTA.

I see that other people have similar problems but no solution is given.

Could please someone tell me what is the latest version of softCSA.dll and where to get it so I can try it?

Maybe SP1 is the problem. A friend runs exactly the same files on his Vista machine with no problems. He does not have SP1 thought.

Vista SP1 is not very good but it speeds up a lot USB data transfers and I would like to keep it.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you for your quick answer.

Could you please point me to a download location?

I finally got it!!!

The answer is to install DVDviewer in the root dir ie c:\DVDViewer\

this way you bypass some stupid security checks vista does on the apps that are installed in the Program files dir.
