Vista Media Center / CCcam - 04-May-2009, 21:12

Can anybody recommend the best way to get CCcam to clear channels in vista media center? I haven't set any of this up yet, still waiting on hardware but I want to get everything ready so I don't have to mess around too much when it arrives.

I am thinking the only way to get this working might be to use dvbsbridge to connect to something else that works with the flycccam plugin (e.g DVBViewer).

Is this likely to work?

Does anybody else do something similar and have any tips?

I tested with Vista mc + vista tv pack 2008 + dvbsbridge + DVBViewer + Vplug, it worked well. I do not see a reason not to work with flycccam.

Thanks nevensky, I have it working pretty well with VMC + TV Pack + DVBLink (Beta 2) + DVBViewer + SoftCSA + Emubox. Its rather convoluted and I may move over to DVBDream in the near future, but it works :)

how are you satisfied with the speed of channel switching in this combination (DVBViewer + SoftCSA + Emubox)?
FlyCccam works much faster, I noticed the difference from a few seconds

Thats the one thing I'm not happy with and the reason I'm probably going to use DVBDream instead of DVBViewer and SoftCSA, channel change is much faster, just waiting for the release of DVBLink for DVBDream and I think I will finally be able to stop tweaking things and watch some TV.

I just tested with ProgDVB, and I do not see the difference, You want me to say that with DVB Dream (I have some problems with that software) is channel change much faster?

I pretty much want to do the same as the first post, (CCcam in media centre) however i want to use DVBViewer as a network TV Server.

I have successfully set up a DVB Server running 3 DVB-S2 cards and 4 client machines all using DVBViewer and DVB-link to work with media centre. It clear channels from my viewing card fine now.

Setup would like this

DVB-S2 card->DVBViewer Server->DVBViewer Client -> SoftCSA-> Hadu-> DVBLink-> Media Centre.

The only part Im unsure about is will the SoftCSA & Hadu or flyCCcam plug-in work when the DVB stream is run over the network.

If anyone has tried this and has some thoughts, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on how you did it, little tips and problems that cropped up.

I just want to do the same with windows 7 MediaCenter to use as a dreambox, anybody now where to find a tutorial to make it possible ?

I'm actually testing DVBlink for dreambox, but it streams from the dreambox, and I want to use them separately.

Using the TV interface in mce (with a skystar s2) in my office and be able to use the dreambox in the living room
