Question Linux CLI tools? - 05-November-2008, 20:07

Hi all,
I'm very new to dvb, but I'm not new to linux. All I have understood till now is that for non-FTA channels you need softcam with keys to decrypt the stream. CCcam is a tool for card sharing - it provides the keys over the network. There is plugin for VDR called cs (vdr-cs) that does decoding for the vdr software. I fail to find info about any tools excluding vdr about setting up DVB-S card to receive non-FTA channels. All I want is a toll(s) so finally i can say

mplayer dvb://non-FTA-channel-name

and get the channel played. Is there such solution or do I have to dig in vdr project for file recording?

Thanks in advance :)
