At least a little guide on how to start it...i think this is the future and maybe we should look into getting some how to steps together.

Did you get anywhere with this?

There is good tutorial for installing sasc out there. There is a good one on the Trac wiki for open sasc.

don't know about the patching etc. Would like to see a complete tutorial though.

I managed to get it to work, but it's not perfect yet.

in a few words :
- scan channels in mythtv using dvb device #0
- get newcs to work
- modprobe dvbloopback
- start sasc with "sasc-ng -j 0:1" so that it binds virtual device #1 to physical device #0
- configure mythtv to use dvb device #1, but do not rescan channels
- enjoy.

The drawback i still have is that sometimes i don't get the keys for some channels (even if they worked the day before). Have to sort that out..

I believe that you do not need to "patch" mythtv, sasc is enough.
For sasc you should use vdr-sasc AFAIK and here is a good tutorial, at least I was able to compile my dvbloopback module with it succesfully.

My problems are elsewhere though and I think JKSmith just wrote something interesting.
I think I have my stuff up and running now but I screwed up somehow and decided to delete all my adapters and channels and redo as my database was a mess. Now I wanted to scan all channels using the "new" virtual adapter and it does not work. The whole machine hangs up? Using original adapter id it works...

If I rescan my channels with original id how do I switch "input source" and stuff from adapter 0 to 1 - I believe there was a simple mysql command for it?

Hi

I run open-sasc with HVR4000 on Mythbumtu 9.10 I compiled open-sasc without patching anything. I think it is not needed anymore, all patches seems to be integrated in the latest release open-sasc. The annoying problem I have is that DVB-T tuner does not work, only DVB-S/S2.
Does anybody have a similar problem and maybe a solution?

Hello, I am trying to config a Debian Lenny HTPC with MythTV and Tevii S470 DVB-S2.

I am trying with SASC-NG and a DVB-T tunner, but I have some problems.

Which is the difference between Open-SASC and SASC-NG?

Thanks for all!
