Lightbulb Howto EMUBOX CCcam Windows complete install - 24-May-2009, 02:05

I wrote this little manual, because i ve seen many half-needfull manuals and hope, thats a little bit better. With this installation you did nt need a extra linux machine for pc sat-tv.
My PC for this installation was a 2.6GHz P4 with 768MB ram. The TV-card is a skystar 2 with DVBdream and the PC-OS is windows xp pro.
First of all youll have 2 go to download.microsoft.com/download/6/0/f/60fc5854-3cb8-4892-b6db-bd4f42510f28/dotnetfx35.exe and install the net framework 3.5 full package. (i use it too) Then you need the installer of "andlinux".
You can load it via andlinux.org/, or direct under the following address: downloads.sourceforge.net/andlinux/andlinux-beta2-minimal.exe
Also you need the latest emubox plugin, which you can find here: sat-television.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=98057&d=1235177836
You need the CCcam binaries, which you can download 4 xample from here: rapidshare.com/files/170913346/cccam2.0.11.zip ,then you should have all needed files on disc.
4 this installation youll need 2GB diskspace.
Before you start this installation, deactivate your firewall. You can activate it again , if you re ready and can give the TAP-COlinux network adapter free.
1. After starting the andLinux-setup.exe and clicking "next" you have to accept the software license and click on "next" again.
2. Select now the Destination Location and click on "next".
3. In this window called "andLinux Configuration Kernal" i choose the 2nd option.
Its the development snapshot version. Then click on the "next" button again.
4. Here in "andLinux Configuration Memory Size" you can allocate the RAM-memory size 4 your subsystem. I choosed the standard-setting of 192MB. Then push the "Next" button again.
5. Were now under "andLinux Configuration X Server" where i leave the defaults. Hit the "Next" button again.
6. Welcome to the "andLinux Configuration Sound" page and select what you want and dont forget to click on "Next" after.
7. Lets come 2 the "andLinux Configuration Startup Type + Panel" page and choose the last option called "run andLinux automatically as a NT service + use Windows shortcuts". Click on "Next" again.
8. Now its going real private, so choose under "andLinux Configuration andLinux Login" your user and pass. May b you can imagine, which button you ve 2 hit as the "Next".
9. Under "andLinux Configuration Windows File Access" i choose the 2nd option called "using CoFS" because its simple and dont forget 2 hit on "Next" again.
10. Now under "andLinux Configuration File Access Using CoFS" you can choose a drive or folder for xchange between windows and your new subsystem. Ive created a folder called "andLinux_xchange" on my d-drive.
You can also use a usb-stick 4 it. If its done click on "Next".
11. Here in "Select Start Menu Folder" you can choose a programm-group or leave it as it is by clicking "Next".
12. Here in "Select Additional Tasks" i would leave the default settings and simply click on "Next" again.
13. Hit the "Install" button and sing a song.
14. Restart your machine with the "Finish" button and go on if youre ready again.
15. Look into your Taskbar 4 the ying and yang symbol of andLinux and start Thunar by right click on it. May b, it comas with a error like "cannot connect to 192.168.11.150 port blah" if you want 2 start too earlie. If its so, just wait a few minutes and try again.
It needs a while 2 start, so dont get crazy.
If its up, youll see a "File Manager" window with your username and a folder called "windows" at the right.
This is the xchange folder which you ve created during the installation of andLinux.
16. Under the windows explorer you can copy your cccam and emubox folders in your xchange folder.

17. Go to the taskbar of windowsxp and right click on the andLinux (ying & yang) symbol to launch the "terminal" of andLinux.
18. Enter or copy the following commands:

cd /var
sudo mkdir /var/bin

19. Press enter.

20. Enter your password which youve created during the installation of andLinux.
21. Enter or copy the following commands:

sudo mkdir /var/etc

22. Press enter.

23. Enter your password which youve created during the installation of andLinux.
24. Enter or copy the following commands:

sudo chown <your_username> /var/bin
sudo chown <your_username> /var/etc

25. Press enter.

26. In the "File Manager" window navigate to the xchange folder called "windows".
27. Open the cccam2.0.11 folder and right click the file CCcam.x86 to select the "copy" option.
28. In "File Manager" click on the left side on "File System" and navigate on the right side to the folder /var/bin.
29. Right click in this folder to select the "paste" option.
30. Go back 2 the terminal window and enter or copy the following commands:

cd /var/bin
sudo chmod 755 CCcam.x86

31. Press enter.

32. In the "File Manager" window navigate to the xchange folder called "windows".
33. Open the cccam2.0.11 directory and right click the file CCcam.cfg to select the "copy" option.
34. In "File Manager" click on the left side on "File System" and navigate on the right side to the folder /var/etc.
35. Right click in this folder to select the "paste" option.
36. In the "File Manager" window navigate to the xchange folder called "windows".
37. Open the emubox/linux directory and press the keys "Strg A" at the same time followed by "Strg C".
38. In "File Manager" click on the left side on "File System" and navigate on the right side to the folder /var/bin.
39. Also right click in this folder to select the "paste" option too.
40. Go back 2 the terminal window and enter or copy the following commands:

sudo chmod 755 emubox_interceptor.so

41. Enter your password which youve created during the installation of andLinux.

42. Press enter.

43. Go back 2 the terminal window and enter or copy the following commands:

sudo chmod 755 run_background
sudo chmod 755 run_debug

44. Press enter again.

Now the hardest part is done and you should ve only a few steps 2 success.

45. In "File Manager" click on the left side on "File System" and navigate on the right side to the folder /var/etc.
46. Edit your CCcam.cfg with your c-line(s) by doubleclick the file.
47. Navigate on your windows xp disc to the emubox/windows directory and copy the files emubox_plugin.cfg and emubox_plugin.dll into the C:\dvbdream\Plugins\pip00 directory.
48. Go back into the terminal, where you still should be under /var/bin and enter or copy the following commands:

./run_debug

49. By pressing enter again your emubox cccam server should b starting with a lot of output in the terminal window.
50. You can now go back to windows xp and start DVBDREAM. You have now access to the world of CCcam-networx.

If you wanna stop your emubox-cccam server, you can do that by entering or copying the following commands into a 2nd terminal window, which can b started in the terminal window pulldown menue with "File" at "open Tab" or "open Terminal":

pkill CCcam.x86

51. Press enter again.

U can enable start, stop and restart of emubox very comfortable with the following procedure.
Write or copy the following commands in the well known telnet window. After the installation of emubox u should really know, when u ve 2 hit the enter button.

cd /var/bin
sudo mkdir /var/script

Enter your password now!

sudo chmod 777 /var/script
sudo chown camthoi /var/script
sudo chown camthoi /var/script/ *
vim /var/script/emubox

Push "i" on your keyboard and insert the following code:

#!/bin/sh
CAMNAME="emubox"
# end

# This method starts EMUBOX
start_cam ()
{
/var/bin/./run_background &

}
# This method stops EMUBOX
stop_cam ()
{
pkill CCcam.x86
}
case "$1" in
start)
echo "[SCRIPT] $1: $CAMNAME"
start_cam
;;
stop)
echo "[SCRIPT] $1: $CAMNAME"
stop_cam
;;
restart)
echo "Restarting $CAMNAME"
stop_cam
start_cam
;;
*)
"$0" stop
exit 1
;;
esac
exit 0

Save it by pushing "Esc" followed by "ZZ" on your Keyboard.

Next commands are:

chmod 755 /var/script/emubox
sudo ln /var/script/emubox /bin/emubox

Enter your password now!

With the next settings your Emubox-CCcam-Combo will start on the next reboot.

sudo vim /etc/rc.local

Now you must push "i" on your keyboard and insert the following line in the free line before "exit0"

/bin/emubox start &

Save it by pushing "Esc" followed by "ZZ" on your Keyboard.
Now the emubox should start automatically if u start andLinux.
If u want to control the emubox manually, u can do that in the terminal with this 3 commands as u like.

emubox start

emubox stop

emubox restart

Thats all !

Sorry, but i ve forget one thing in the last part of the manual!
You have to edit in the folder /var/bin the run_backround file and must edit the entry like this:

LD_PRELOAD='/var/bin/./emubox_interceptor.so' /var/bin/./CCcam.x86

Also ive forget to say, that u can reach the webinterface of CCcam under this IP: 192.168.11.150:16001
Also you may read sometimes in the terminal window "blah - operation not permitted" . In this case you have 2 use the sudo command 1`st.
Now u should nt have probs anymore.

Thumbs up Yes, u can, but... - 04-June-2009, 20:01

as ive found out, u cant run it with a serial cardreader on the rs232 of windows, because of limitations in colinux, which is the carriersystem of andlinux.
Ive made the little test and activate the serial option in the andlinux "settings.txt", which u can find in ur andLinux program-folder, but its sad but true, without success.
You can also play with settings if u want, like with this genuine manual from the settings.txt - file, but as u can see in the bold part, that this may b only a waste of time.
If u want 2 connect a cardreader under windows, you should install 4 xample the newcs-w32 version as card-server 4 cccam.
Then u can use the n-line option in cccam.cfg with
your windows-pc IP .
Here are the xamples from the manual of the andlinux-settings.txt file:.

"ttysX=<serial device name>,<mode parameters>

Use any number <X> of these to specify serial interface (ttys0),
and host specific device name (COM1). <mode parameter> sets
baudrate, data format and line disciplin. Refer your host system help (MODE -?) for more options.

Serial device supports only transmit and receice bytes. Controls
(mode settings) are not supported from virtual machine side
. Inside
coLinux can only run with one baudrate and mode from startup setting.

Examples:
ttys0=COM1 # Connects the serial device /dev/ttyS0 from linux
# to host system COM1. Please set the line
# parameters for serial port on hostsystem,
# before colinux starts.

ttys0=COM1,"BAUD=115200 PARITY=n DATA=8 STOP=1 dtr=on rts=on"
# Sets many more default parameters for the serial
# port. Please refer you manual or help system of
# host system for optional parameters ("MODE /?").

Sometimes it can b happen, that cccam get killed, if you close your dvb-player software.
In fact of this may b its the best, 2 use the emubox plugin with altdvb and the cccam-linux-part with andlinux.
So, if your cccam get killed, then it affects only ur local system and not your main-server. By the way, why dont u use your gbox-linux-machine also 4 the main cccam-server?
May b, u want 2 play also with progdvb. In this case u can only use acamd 2 connect with the emubox server. How ever, 4 me actually altdvb (more stable then dvbdream) with emubox plugin is the best windows solution available.
If u use it with golden osd plugin, it looks also very nice.

Thanks 4 the flowers and
cheerz

Hello satlad!

Yes, but if you want 2 use 4 xample altdvb, then only the older versions have ss1 support.
Its also possible 2 use altdvb and dvb dream with bda-devices. So you can enjoy sat-tv with your laptop. I bought a used TT-connect s2-3600 for a ridiculously small price and it worx like a charm even on mpeg4 and hd channelz.
If i use this device with my test-system from the HOWTO, its working with an average of only 20% cpu-achievement with altdvb on all mpeg2 and mpeg4 sd-channelz.

Hi daveking!

#37

You have 2 press "strg" together with "a" to select all and "strg" together with "c" to copy your selected items.
#40
Before u came to this point, you should have already executed #30. So with this

cd /var/bin

command you should been already in the right folder and the command from #40 should work without probs.
With your last question #37 is your friend again.

Hi
still have the same problem.
In the var.bin and var.etc there is nothing in them,is this the strg a and strg c
thing.
Also 33 to 36 paste into var/etc and 39 paste into var/bin too,
should this be pasted into var.bin and var.etc.
is ther another way to copy and paste without using strg thing.
sorry to be a pain.
and thanks

Hi daveking!

In andLinux you need in the folder "/var/etc" at least the file "CCcam.cfg".
You should find it, if you click in the File Manager-window of andLinux at the left side on your username.
Then you ll see on the right side a folder called "windows".
This is the folder, where you should have the cccam2.0.11 and the emubox folder.
If you now open your CCcam folder, then you should see the file "CCcam.cfg".
Go with your mousecursor over this file and push the right mousebutton.
Now you should see a little options-box where you should select the "copy" option.
In the File Manager-window of andLinux click at the left side on File System.
Now you should see at the right side a folder called "var".
Open this folder and you should see a folder called "etc".
Open this folder and right-click in the window.
Now you should see a little options-box, where you have to select the option "paste" and voila, your "CCcam.cfg" file is now in this folder.
To copy the files from the "emubox" folder the steps are very similar.
You can select or deselect more than one file by pressing the "Strg" key together with your left mouse-button over your desired files.

I hope, you can solve your problems now.
