MediaPortal and CS - 21-January-2008, 00:51

Hello, I'we been trying to get the CS working with yankse and fenrir in MediaPortal. I have sucsessfully installed the MDAPI filter, and downloaded the yankse and fenrir plugin, but I can't figure out how to get yanske to work with CONAX ( Canal Digital Norway) So if anybody could tell me exacly what to do to get it to work, including which files I need and where to get them I would really appreciate it!

MediaPortal should only be a client, my server is a Dreambox with the NewCamd protocol.. This Dreambox is also serving Viasat (NDS Videoguard), so if you also now how to get that to work, please tell me..

My only experience with CS comes from Dreambox, and there it is pretty much plug&play.. But it would be so much better if I could use MediaPortal to everything, also watching TV.

I know there are many skillful people on this forum, and if anybody of you could help me with this, I would be very thankful!

Regards from a very confused satnoob

Use WinCSC to connect to your card server.
Enjoy ;)

Thanks for a quick reply!
I have actually tried to use wincsc as a plugin, it says changing to channelx xxxxx, but i get a error messeage and it just says disconnected at the bottom line in the monitor... Are you sure that wincsc will work with MediaPortal with MDAPI filter? Anything I will have to do other than putting the wincsc dll file in the MDPlugn folder, any other files or settings? I use MediaPortal 0.2.3 Final by the way

My advice, use the ACamd plugin. It's a NewCAMD, Feynman and Gbox plugin. And it allows you to directly access a phoenix compatible cardreader through COM1 and/or COM2.

WinCSC didn't work for me either through Mediaportal. However, Acamd does. You can get the latest version from it's thread ( click me! ) on this forum.

Thanks for the quick reply, i downloaded acamd but I'm a bit unsure how I should configure the cardclient.conf file...

Here is my setup for newcamd.list (MgCamd) on one of my Dreambox's

CWS_MULTIPLE = IPADRESS PORT1:PORT2 USERNAME PASSWORD 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan cardserv

I see there are some settings I have never used before in this config file:

newcamd:192.168.7.54:34000:1/0604/ffff:User1:Pass1:0102030405060708091011121314

what I wondering about is what/if I should use 'emm' 'caid' and 'mask' options in my case...

Update, got it working on first channel I used in MediaPortal
then i got this two messeages on every channel i tried to connect to:

PMT not found
CAT not found

I even got the messages on the first channel that first worked after I had zapped through some channels.

I need some expert help here,
this is how I configured the config file:
newcamd:IP:PORT:1:USERNAME:PASSWORD:01020304050607 08091011121314

Question 15-November-2008, 09:35

Hi !

You said, that ACamd would work with Mediaportal ? - What I couldnt find out is how to activate it in Mediaportal... Into which folder does it need to be put in to work ? - Does it work directly with Mediaportal or is there another plugin, like SoftCSA which has to be installed first ?

Please help, since Google didnt deliver any results to these questions...

Cheers
MRedZac
