Pheonix reader with Gbox in linux howto? - 02-May-2007, 01:33

Heeelp..

I have a dual pheonix card reader with two serial ports, so each reader has only one port. One of these I have plugged into /dev/ttyS0, the other into /dev/ttyUSB0.

Newcs I have got working, but only on the USB cable, it doesn't seem to play on the real serial line. I'm willing to accept that the cable or port may be dodgy.

NewCS config
Code:

                <device>
                        <name>Phoenix Interface</name>
                        <type>phoenix</type>
                        <mhz>600</mhz>
                        <node>/dev/ttyUSB0</node>
                        <parity>odd</parity>

However, gbox just won't play..

I get:

Then nothing if I set:
V: { 00 02 }

(I like the use of F to use /dev/ttyUSB0 instead of /dev/ttyS1)
(the little red light flickers btw..)

Gbox_Cfg
Code:
# Used Adapter and Port

V: { 00 01 }

F: { 44 } /dev/ttyUSB0
F: { 58 } 01 // nds 5.7
It's a Sky UK NDS FreeSat card I am testing with.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(
