Humax CS speed problem - 01-January-2007, 14:11

Hello everyone.

I am experimenting with a dreambox 7000 who shares to a humax 5400.
The humax is connected with a 0- model cable to a pc. It works but sometimes when I switch channels it takes more than a minute to get the picture back on the TV screen.. Is here somebody who as experience with this, and better a solution to short that time.
I work with sharemax.

Thanks.. And greetings Toyboy

as the client, try WSP instead of sharemax.

I can’t find it myself.

Greetings Toyboy and thank you

hi toyboy...

i used humax + dm for sharing on sharemax and wsp... and did exstensive
testing while i was there...

in all my experiments i never found that problem... however if i was to bet
on something these would be top of my list....

1. Baud Rate :
ALL sharing software that connects to the rs232 serial port of the humax
5400 MUST be set to 115200 baud rate
faliure to do this will result in the problem u descibe above

2. Old/Wrong pmct table or pmct settings in humax menu
You should have latest pmct table in your humax and you should also
make sure you are using block ecm/emm + PMCT in humax menu..

3. [email protected] serial cable / longer than 3 metres
No Serial cable should ever be longer than 3 metres , and use proper rs232
cables..

4. check properties of your serial device in windows properties
(device manager)... it should be set to 115200 , also check settings in the
sharing program you use like i said in number 1.

if you find wsp , try setting to sssp mode in humax and in wsp as this is a
different protocol to hsic and might give different results to sharemax

i confirm that using sharemax or wsp if setup correct , pic should clear in no
longer than a few seconds , the longest i have seen the humax take is
using gbox as sharing software , but even that manages to clear the pic in a
few seconds 99% of time , occasionaly taking as long as 6-7 seconds ,
NO Known software should take 1 minute to clear pic if setup right.

those are my 4 top reasons for your problem... i hope it helps..

enjoy.....

I really don't think the cable is the problem coz mine is 12 mtrs long and it works fine..

I use WSP and Sharemax (not at the same time of course)

I'm still looking for info regarding Gbox..

What is it?
a Client Software?
a server software?
what is a D-Line?

just a few questions..

Hallo Aslat.and pronet

Sorry that I answer so late, I’m very busy at the moment.
We have made a shorter cable, and we think it had less Glisters, that’s what has bin told.
I get the humax at my place soon, so I can see if there is something wrong. It worked fine at my place, but not at my friends.

a Client Software? Sharemax on the Humax
a server software? Gbox on a dreambox 7000
what is a D-Line? The D-line is a share line, an exchange line that you have to give to someone you like to share with. It is for Gbox en sharemax to know to talk between a server and a client. I think that is you’re question ?
Aslat send me a PM regarding Gbox questions
