I cant explain how they can take over your server but how it maybe start

Last weeks I've got PM from New members ( with no posts ? )

They tell me what they got and that they want to talk on msn
Or they just tell me to send my cline to them ( why should I ? )

On msn they are talking a lot and are very nice to beginning.
But when you tell them that you will try their lines before you send
yours they will be very angry and act bad. Like telling you have a bad
card or something els.

For me it started after my posts about bad peer in "bad peer section"

So be very careful who you are giving your clines to !

I'll put F on 0 0 0 just in case.
They only got c-lines or even logins?

You don't have to give anyone a C: Line.

All that's really needed is for you to test a C: Line given to you, or answer an email directly, or anything that gives someone your public IP even for a very short while. Even existing with an open CCcam port is a useful way to mark yourself for extra checking. You also have to have some other vulnerability.

I don't understand the difference. The C: Lines they got will have probably 3-5 insecure servers in every 10. That 3-5 will have 3-5 insecures, and so on. Insecure means, "Write your own F: Line if you feel like it."

If you run a pay-server this board is a gold mine. If you just want free television, grabbing lines is much faster than waiting for people to give these to you.

Well jarjar thats why i have deleted u from my server more then 2 months ago !!!!!

I had diferent ip's connecting ith ur F line only.

When i told u about it that ur box might been hacked u told me that it cannot be true and that u only use ur F on 1 ip.

So after that crappy answer i decided to delete u cause u were unresponsive to the fact that u might have been hacked by someone.

In my small opinion u have been hacked more then once now and most likely will be hacked again by someone who does not like u.

U are a good peer with good working cards tho buts its a shame that u are really unsecure and this will probably happen again without u finding it out for 2 months again or so.

Being what it is, this board is in an ideal position to curtail the activities of pay-servers and line thieves.

It would require, for example, only a brief automated scan of members' networks at login with an automated PM/email reminder if anything unusual is found.

Moderators say it is the responsibility of each person to secure his or her own network, and to a large extent, I agree with this. This does not mean the board itself cannot actively assist its users in securing their networks.

If the board itself adopts proactive approach, rather than the laissez faire policy now in force, the environment of ECS would become much less hospitable to line-thieves and pay-servers, and we would see far fewer of these sorts of peer announcements.

Just my two cents...

Many tutorials speak about security.
Before I share with someone I first check all default ports if they are open or not.
But you also have cases like this http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f265/...abbit45-132251
That means you can have all secured but if someone spreads your c-lines.... you are screwed with illegal logins

client shows pink in cccamphpinfo when clients ip doesn not match ip from dns

Behaviour from multiple logins is that connection time in active clients mostly does not exceed the 10 seconds and high ECM usage
