ISP troubles - 14-August-2009, 18:22

To all my peers:

I am currently having troubles with my ISP.
Unfortunately I am going on vacation this weekend, and I will not be back before the 26th August.

I am not sure the that I can solve the problem before leaving, but in the worst of cases, I will get to it on the 26th.

My apologies to everyone for the inconvenience.

Well aparently now my connection is back on

Belgium ISP's are really bad...

Lets hope it stays on until I came back from vacation.

False alarm....

My internet connection is still drooping.
I have tried several things:
- Restore router defaults and set up the connection again
- Connect the speedtouch modem directly to the PC via USB cable
- Shut everything down and try a couple of hours later

With all the above I always get the same result, just a few seconds connection, and then the line drops.

Actually when I connect the speedtouch directly to the computer I get a few hints on the problem: a few seconds after connection I get the message "connexion was lost", then I try to connect again and I get the message "line busy" or "could not reach the server"....

I can connect to the internet using the same computer and 3G modem, so the computer should be fine...

So I guess that it is either a problem with the speedtouch modem or the ISP provider. Today is a national holiday in Belgium, so I can't get any assistance from the ISP provider (even on a normal day it's going to be hard). As for the modem, I would like to test a different one, but at the moment I don't have any other available...

Sorry to every one for the inconvenience.
I will let you know when the situation goes back to normal.

Hello everyone!

I figured out what was causing my ISP troubles... I had asked to change my contract (higher speed), and apparently during the transition period (2-3) days the connection was unstable...

The good news is that everything is sorted out, and everything is working perfectly.
On top of it, I have gone Local!

My peers can now enjoy my local Bis TV card!
