Wonky dish and server random reboots

All,

The mad few days of heavy wind in the UK has moved my satellite dish and will not pick up anything now, the dish guy is coming Wednesday to move it back to place, this won't affect anyone I know but it has for my viewing :(

I have also noticed since this my Dreambox seems to be randomly rebooting but I am not sure if this was caused my the power surges that came with the severe wind or with trying to find a satellite just goes mad and reboots... I have put it into standby now so will hopefully stop the random rebooting but after my dish is back in line I can do some more testing which will involve hours watching TV to see when it might go off and present an error message, easy day for me :)

I am also looking into upgrade my Dreambox with hopefully a VU+ type box but I will keep everyone updated with that ;)

u probally have a plugin running that needs a sat signal..

crossepg?? something like that?

u can set your tuner cfg..as none..for the time being... that might cause issues also...

if you see green screen crashes could be a bad or corrupt image this happened with me several times when i got my dm800SE HD Genuine on Blackhole images
i flashed EGD Nemesis latest and never looked back since
most likely your getting those reboots due to overcurrent on your sat cable its possible that it may have loosened altogether especially LNB Cable which has happened to me many times in poor weather due to winds and rain causing a short
you might find your dish is ok but just this fault in cable is causing the problem
your dish guy should detect this almost instantly if his meter is any good
Thats the first thing i check for with my Satlook micro+ meter is Sat cable readings before i go adjusting dish or motor settings .
but not to worry too much the worst of the bad weather is now over thankfully and weather should always improve from now onwards .

set your tuner config as cold007 says to Simple > No Disecq if you know what sat your dish is on and see if you can then pickup a signal if not leave it in standby mode you wont get reboots in standby im quite sure of that .

You will be right cold007 as I have EPG downloads set for various packages so this will be causing but it downloads from a website instead of picking up from a sat... so not really sure?!
I have changed my box from Disecq to single sat so this is not constantly looking for a signal, never realised this until the satellite dish icon was flickering away in the top right hand corner indicating something.... I am seriously getting worse in my old age :)

Back in business, dish had moved a fraction but now back in-line, testing for a few hours today with the random reboots happening but should be fine now.
