Hi all,

i am new to all this dreambox and cardsharing stuff

i have a few questions hopefully some senior members can help me out on

i am thinking of getting a motorised dish with a dreambox 500 just to see how i get on

now what i understand so far is that once i get the dreambox i need to put cccam on the box?

then i need to find a free server? if i find a free server i wont need to buy a card?

where can i buy a card from anyway if i want one so that it will be easier for me to share with people?

i appretiate any help thankyou

Honestly, if you take your time and prepare before you start, then it's really not that hard to do yourself. Get yourself a compass and find your latitude and longitude on the net using Google Maps or so. There are so many guides all over the net to help you get it installed. No rocket science here m8!

Don't rob your own wallet. Those prices are in no way correct! And if what you mean by "subscription" is a payserver than you would help your fellow cardshare-hobbyists by reporting this server...if you can. Those people sell the cards that other people are so kind to share. Even to people that have no card of their own. Why? Because they ask kindly. Thats all it takes.

As for your box, you need to flash it with a modified firmware (google enigma or pli or newnigma, there are many more) which enables you to install additional software, incl software like CCcam needed to share cards. Afterwards its up to you to learn how and to find people to share with.

thanks for your reply kreliz

ive seen how to put a motorised dish up and ive seen how to check the latitude and longitude

my only concern is the c line, why would somebody want my c line when ive probably got nothing on my box to really share?

any yes you are right it is probably a paid server theyve charged atleast 5 people we know personally 200+

I had nothing but a working Dreambox with running CCcam when i started. No card, nothing. I came here and just asked people if they wanted to share. There is a "CCcam exchange free"-section here on the site. Here you can share without needing a card. Again, there are good people out there sharing their cards with others who have nothing. And it really doesn't take much effort to find some people who will have a card you want. The start might perhaps a bit slow since you are not bringing much forth yourself...yet.

The point is not getting a cline, that is the easy part. It's what comes after that, how you maintain your server that matters. You might not have a card, but if your server is a good relay to other cards they want, then people will be more than happy to share with you.

Get your box prepared, do some homework and than when time comes write me a pm and ill give you your first line so you got something to at least start to share with and find your own peers.

I don't feel comfortable giving tips concerning a payserver and i don't even want to. Thats where i step back. And i wouldn't expect a long life here on the forum if you get involved in payservers. Understand that payservers are a disease for this hobby and they are actively sought for and users related to it banned.

charlie1,

last warning, stop talking about payservers, and start reading the tutorials in the forum. the topic about how to get cccam working is pretty much generic, be it a linux pc or dreambox. look at the free CS section for some free lines to start with. then READ and OBSERVE what other people look for in a card to share, im sure you will be able to get a card of your own.

this hobby costs a lot, more so than owning a spoiled cat.
