I have a really horrid cheapo CRT 27" thing that I keep trying to persuade the wife to get rid of in favour of a nice widescreen lcd hi def thing. However, she keeps arguing about it costing money and how she would prefer to feed the kids or some such nonsense.

We also use laptops and a portable in the kitchen (with a hauppage mvp client under linux - just had to run an ethernet cable into the kitchen around the house and in through an air vent.)

(have two dishes, a huge 2 mtr prime focus towards 28.2 and another dual feed 13 and 19,2 - a dreambox and a vdr / skystar 2 thing.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(

Now changed it to a Hannspree 32" flat screen HD with no HD input. Also ditched the dreambox 7000 and no using two SkyStar2's in a Linux VDR server with three Hauppauge MVP's to watch it on. Persauded the kids not to eat for the summer and bought the TV. The kids look a bit thinner, but are generally happy now they can watch Nickelodeon with people being stretched sideways due to aspect ratio problems. :-)
