Hi guys !

Long times ago I suggested you to implement the secure socket layer (ssl) for this forum ,but since that time no progress has been made so far.
I think it is a "must" for the sake of info we share with each other.
It is not so difficult to implement it and the costs for buying a signed certificate are not so high nowadays.

Please do it !

IMHO all the internet should be encrypted, every protocol have a secured version (HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, Telnet/SSH, POP3/SPOP, etc..)

BUT

implementation of a SSL requires more power which requires more investments and certificate must be released by really trusted sources.

if you are really after your security. connect via SSL tunnels toward this website, then exchange only contact details with your prospective peers then talk in private, over a secured connection if you want.

unless of course you want to donate the SSL certificate and hardware costs, then that would be more than welcome, i assume.

I cannot asses how much money are needed to power the server making able to handle ssl socket oeverheads ,but the certificate doesn't cost too much.
If I donate the money for the certificate are you going to implement ssl ?
Is better to have something slow than nothing against the sniffers .

Cheers!

For the moment I suggest to make at least a sticky that everyone should be informed:

Do not exchange lines with PM ! Use secure mail instead .

Cheers!
