Hi people,

I first got satellite in at home 1992, the last time I used it was 1998 when I ditched sky and a never re-subscribed. My old analogue stuff has been left gathering dust for 10 years. 10 months ago I dusted off the old 1M lenson heath dish, replaced to Jeager H-H with a new Diseq one and bought a skystar HD2 So now I'm a home DVB TV newbee. A am a Satellite engineer though by trade (starting in 1989) and even did some sat tv (ssog) lineups for some of the old analogue sky stuff. My first experience with digital TV was with Thompson equipment back in mid 90's. It was an Mpeg 1 systems in a 8U 19in rack. I also used some of the old NTL 1000 system stuff. 8U encoders and 2U IRD's. Theres more power on my PC card now.

Even so, my knowledge of the digital platform is rather limited. I managed to get into a Tandberg training course a few years back but didn't mangage to get into the encryption training so no little about that.

Since getting the Satellite stuff working again I don't think I'll be using it much but I am interested in getting it going to my liking. I just like messing about in my spare time.
