CME teams up with Alticast

IBC AMSTERDAM. CME has chosen Alticast solutions to power new services such as OTT, DVB-T and OTT hybrid in the six markets in Central and Eastern Europe it operates in.
The new CME services will be rolled out next year.
Commenting on the development, Claudiu Paraschiv, head of TV Technologies, CME, said: Central and Eastern Europe is a highly vibrant, innovative market.
He added: To succeed in this market you have to give consumers great content and services. We develop a substantial amount of our own content which is aimed directly at the markets we operate in. Working with Alticast ensures that we will be able to offer this content to our consumers in new and exciting ways, including OTT, hybrid DVB-T/OTT offerings. We chose Alticast because of its track record of delivering exciting and innovative broadcast services as well as cutting edge user interface design, something which has become an increasingly important factor for our future success.
Thomas Jung, CMO, Alticast, said: CME is a leader in a very competitive market. Alticast looks forward to providing solutions which ensure that CME can continue to develop the exciting applications that enable it to increase subscriber numbers as well as launch new revenue generating services.
Jung continued: Clearly we understand that the solutions we provide need to be technically excellent but thats no longer enough; Alticast has therefore dedicated a great deal of energy and resources to ensuring that AltiPlatform allows operators to launch services that are attractive and exciting for their subscribers. We look forward to being a part of CMEs continued success.
