IFA International Keynotes at 50th IFA in Berlin are set to provide glimpse of life in the age of 3D and the networked home. This year, Europes biggest consumer electronics show takes place September 3 8 at the Berlin Exhibition Site.

Executives from two leading media companies will address critical questions about 3D TV sets and content on Friday, September 3. Immediately following, at 3:30 pm, Bernhard Burgener, CEO of Constantin Medien AG, will discuss the role of cinema and sports in driving 3D media consumption. He is also expected to share background information on Resident Evil, a new 3D feature film due for release in Germany on September 16.

The keynotes on Saturday, September 4, will focus on the role of technological innovations in revolutionizing the home appliances market. At 9:45 am, Michael Rhodin, senior vice president, IBM Software Solutions Group, will speak about smart electronics and steps the industry must take to realise the vision of the networked home. At 3:00 pm, Dr. Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet, CEO of Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances, will call upon the industry to market a broader spectrum of ultra-energy-efficient appliances, and will present concrete approaches to bringing smart, networked appliances to consumers.

This global group of speakers from around the world at the IFA International Keynotes will highlight the latest innovative developments, which will very soon impact decisively on the consumer electronics and home appliances industries, said IFA Executive Director Jens Heithecker. Together, in particular with leading insiders from the industry and the media, we expect to provide a new impetus and spark new ideas that will benefit the device manufacturing industry.
