Based on innovation and boldness, Arte’s new 2009-2010 season will launch with a special 24-hour event in Berlin, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The show will start on September 5 at 6 am and end on Sunday 6. ‘24 Hours Berlin, A Capital Day’ will present the daily life of some twenty Berlin inhabitants, famous or not, who will be filmed during the day of September 5. Around €2.8 million has been dedicated to the production of this special event that will be completed with various documentary series on the Wall broadcast between September and November.
The French-German cultural channel has also announced other new formats such as the live-broadcast from Bremen of Puccini’s opera La Bohême on September 29 along with realistic docs and drama series like Justice Vegas.
The channel aims at launching events both on TV and online, following the success of cultural platform Arte live web.
