TF1, M6 ad revenues down
The benefits of France’s public service broadcasting prime-time advertising ban since January 5, do not seem to be flowing to TF1 and M6. Ad revenues were down 16% for TF1 between January 5 and 25 compared to the same period in 2008, acording to analyst Yacast.
In slots broadcast before 8pm, TF1’s ad revenues actually decreased 26%. M6’s total revenues fell back 8%, and 15% after 8pm.
The situation is much brigter for Canal+ and DTT channels, with ad revenues respectively up 20% (including a 26% rise after 8pm), and 78%.
Daytime ad revenues on France 2 and France 3 were up 9% over the studied period.
