More motoring for Germany
German TV production company Motorvision will launch its thematic channel Motorvision TV this summer, the third such service in Germany. Motorvision's 24-hour service, which will be distributed exclusively on Premiere’s pay-TV platform, will offer information and entertainment on cars, motoring, mobility and driving pleasure.
After Motors TV and AutoMoto TV, Motorvision TV is the third television channel for motoring fans in Germany. Publishing house Motor Presse Stuttgart, which publishes the magazine Auto Motor und Sport, is also planning to launch a TV channel focusing on cars.
Motorvision TV will report on new car models, four-wheel drives, luxury cars, car tuning, vintage cars and current trends within the motorcycle market. Additionally, the Munich-based channel will offer background reports on motor sports, traffic safety, travel, design, used cars and innovations in the field of futuristic environmentally friendly vehicles. Car fans can learn about current events from the automobile world in presenter-hosted news broadcasts. A substantial part of the schedule will consist of Motorvision productions.
In addition to Motorvision, Jochen Kröhne, former managing director of German commercial TV channels TM3 and Tele 5, as well as Raimund Köhler and Markus Rudolf Reischl hold stakes in the channel.
Motorvision has been producing TV series on cars and motorcycles for 20 years, counting among its clients general interest channel ProSieben, sports channel DSF and men’s channel DMAX. In March the company launched an internet web portal on cars and motorcycles. Plans for the TV project became known in December 2008.
