Mumbai MSO opts for Verimatrix content security

Rebecca Hawkes RapidTVNews | 19-06-2012

YOU SCOD 18 Networking, the multi system operating venture between YOU Broadband and Cable India, has selected Verimatrix video content authority system architecture to provide revenue security for its new 200 channel digital cable TV service.

The VCAS 3 technology selected for the MSO's transition from analogue to digital TV brings together all aspects of conditional access with the interactivity of an IP-based network, via what Verimatrix terms 'a single robust security solution'.

"We evaluated several CAS vendors and ultimately chose to partner with Verimatrix because of its ability to provide us with a true, integrated multi-screen platform," said N K Rouse, director, YOU SCOD18.

"Choosing the right security technology is a critical competitive differentiator, especially with so many operators participating in India's digitalization initiative. We believe that partnering with Verimatrix will result in many unique benefits, including enhanced revenue security and the flexibility to easily develop and deploy new multi-screen services," he added.

YOU SCOD 18 currently offers a wide range of television programming, and plans to launch video on demand services in the near future over its hybrid fibre coax network.
