NDS to protect HD+ on Sky
05 May 11 -

NDS will protect the HD+ platform delivered to Sky Deutschland subscribers.

The conditional access specialist said it was using NDS VideoGuard to ensure subscribers can receive both Sky Deutschland and HD+ services through Skys HD receivers. Astra Platform Services (APS), the technical operator of the HD+ service, will simultaneously encrypt HD+ content with NDS VideoGuard.

The new HD platform from satellite operator SES Astra provides encrypted free-to-air TV channels in HD to the German market. The HD+ channel line-up currently includes RTL HD, Sat.1 HD, ProSieben, HD Vox HD, Kabel Eins HD, RTL 2 HD, Sport1 HD and Sixx HD. It will be available on the Sky Deutschland platform in the summer.
