BBC shifts Prime
Written by Rose Major
BBC Worldwide has shifted its BBC Prime international channel from Eutelsat’s Hot Bird satellite neighbourhood to the Eurobird 9A satellite, but still through satellite services provider Globecast.
Eurobird 9A’s position at 9 degrees east provides DTH coverage of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Eutelsat provided BBC Worldwide and Globecast with over 600 ClipSat devices to distribute to cable and DTH operators across the region, enabling them to access both Eurobird 9A and Hot Bird channels from one standard dish.
Globecast has two dedicated transponders on Eurobird 9A tha allow for uplink from both the UK and France.
