Czech Republic eyes digital dividend

The Czech Telecom Office (CTU) has opened the second round of a consultation process on the utilisation of the Czech Republics digital dividend.

The first round took place last year, and the second will look specifically at the innovation of new services in 470 to 862Mhz band.

It will be concluded with a workshop entitled The transition to digital TV broadcasting and the digital dividend ll, to be held in Prague on March 18 and 19.

A third round of the consultation process, running alongside an assessment of the digital switchover that will include discussions about the deployment of DVB-T2 and HD channels, is expected to take place this autumn.
