France: Only 22% of homes now without digital

Written by Pascale Paoli Lebailly

About two French households out of three received digital TV in March, while 22.4% of them still remained dependent on analogue televsion, regulator the CSA announced, two years before switchover.

In total, 65.9% of households are now equipped with a digital receiver (DTT, cable, satellite or IPTV).

Among people more resistant to new technologies are people over 65 years. During the second half of 2008, 26.9% of households whose head of family is aged between 65 and 74 years-old exclusively received analogue television, and 38% when the person is above 75.
