Get Schooled: You Have the Right, the 30-minute documentary shown across all Viacom cable networks Tuesday night, drew 12.7 million viewers, the programmer said.

Featuring President Barack Obama, pop singer Kelly Clarkson (pictured) and basketball star LeBron James, Get Schooled was the most-watched cable program on Sept. 8, when it aired at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific and 7 p.m. Central, according to live plus same day national network ratings from Nielsen Media Research cited by Viacom.

Nickelodeon had 4.3 million viewers, or 35% of the total, Viacom said.

The program, Viacom's first programming roadblock, aired on BET, BET J, CMT, CMT Pure Country, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV Jams, MTV Hits, MTV2, mtvU, Nick at Nite, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Noggin, Spike TV, The N/Teen Nick, TV Land, VH1, VH1 Classic and VH1 Soul. It was subtitled in Spanish on MTV Tr3s.

Get Schooled: You Have the Right highlights the education challenges, life choices and breakthroughs experienced by three professionals who provide critical support to these leading figures in politics, entertainment and sports.

It aired commercial-free, in partnership with AT&T, Capital One Financial Corporation and NYSE Euronext.

It marked the launch of "Get Schooled," a five-year national initiative co-developed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Viacom that creates a platform for corporate and community stakeholders to address the challenges facing America's public schools.

It was created and executive produced by MTV's Dave Sirulnick and executive produced and directed by Lauren Lazin. @radical.media is a strategic, creative and production partner of the Get Schooled initiative.

The program can be viewed in its entirety on Getschooled.com.
