Latens wins Motorola partnership

Fast-growing conditional access (CA) specialists Latens has signed a global reseller agreement with Motorola. This important relationship means that Latens will now provide the core CA component for Motorola's integrated IPTV ecosystem.

The reseller agreement encompasses the complete range of Latens CA and middleware products for IPTV, Cable, Satellite and Terrestrial networks. "It cements a strategic relationship between the two companies that has seen numerous deployment successes, including joint projects in Scandinavia and the Middle East," says a statement.

As part of the global reseller agreement, Latens and Motorola products will be "tightly integrated to provide operators with a turn-key solution that is highly robust, scalable and secure, backed up with world class customer support from both companies. The extended partnership will enable operators to deploy and launch reliable IPTV services faster and more easily, decreasing costs and driving revenue generation," the statement continued.

"Motorola has selected Latens software CAS for its reference platform because the benefits of software CA far outweigh those of legacy smartcards. Motorola needs to be able to deliver an IPTV system that is cost effective, flexible and highly secure, the Latens solution was the one that best helped Motorola satisfy these demands," said a statement.

"This agreement is a further testament to the level of superior security and flexibility that our software solutions provide Pay-TV operators," said Jeremy Thorp, CEO, Latens. "Integrating and deploying the necessary elements of an IPTV system is a significant challenge, requiring specialized architecture and integration, combining resilience, scalability, and flexibility. The cumulative experience serving the Pay-TV market and the successful joint customer references we have obtained over recent years, continue to be key factors for operators deploying our joint solution. We are excited about our strengthened partnership with Motorola and look forward to continued and greater success," concluded Thorp.
