Plymouth could invest £40 million in fibre broadband
Households and small businesses in Plymouth could be sampling the super fast fibre optic broadband service from the through-the-sewer network provider, H2O Networks.
It seems that currently the city council is in talks with H2O, discussing the technology and most importantly the cost of fibre broadband, which is estimated to be around £40 million.
The council will also have to see if there is a demand for the service, after all it would be a pointless waste of the council’s money if it provides just a few homes and businesses with super fast broadband.
There have been signs that such services are not financially viable in some areas, as the take-up is just too low.
