Sky Germany gets MGM’s mane man

Marcus AmmonPremiere has announced the appointment of Marcus Ammon as vice president, film when the company rebrands as Sky next month.
Ammon, who joins from the MGM Networks, will take responsibility for the movie channels within the new Sky Film package as well as Sky Cinema HD.
“We are delighted Marcus has chosen to join Sky. Many of my colleagues have worked extensively with Marcus over the years given our extensive relationship with MGM,” said Premiere CEO Mark Williams. “His mission is to ensure that Sky will offer the most comprehensive and highest quality film service available in the market orientated to provide our customers with choice and convenience.”
Ammon said he was looking forward to joining Sky at the start of an exciting period. “I will have access to the largest imaginable movie pool that a German TV company has to offer with respect to both blockbusters and library product. I am proud that Sky has given me the opportunity to use my experiences to drive sustainable subscriber growth.”
Ammon was managing director of MGM Network’s German-speaking channels. Before that he was programme director of Universal Studios Networks Germany and held different positions at ProSieben and Kabel 1.
