Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) will roll out its entertainment channel TNT Serie to further platforms in Germany.
The pay-TV service will soon become available on the networks of Germany’s second-largest cable operator Unitymedia as well as via the IPTV platforms operated by Deutsche Telekom and HanseNet. Additionally, TBS has extended the existing carriage contracts for its channels Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Turner Classic Movies over long-term periods with all three partners.
TNT Serie will start on Unitymedia on March 31 and on April 1 on HanseNet’s Alice homeTV with Deutsche Telekom’s T-Home Entertain to follow in May. The TV station, which screens international drama and comedy series, was launched on January 28 in Premiere’s pay-TV package and on the cable networks of Kabel Deutschland and Kabel BW. Negotiations are continuing with further platform operators via cable and ADSL.
Series are screened using widescreen picture format 16:9 both in the original language and the dubbed German version without commercial interruptions. TNT Serie currently broadcasts from 20:15 until 06:00 CET, with a 24-hour schedule planned from June.
