October 26 launch for AustriaSat

AustriaSat, the new DTH platform for Austria, will go live on Tuesday, October 26, on the Astra satellite at 19.2 East.

With the strapline TV mit Wow! the platform offers a bouquet of channels from Sony, ProSiebenSat.1, RTL Deutschland and MTV Networks. Reception is possible for all Austrian households with a regular ORF smart card, that is used for reception of the channels from the public broadcaster as well as for the free-to-view commercial channels. This bouquet consists of ORF1, ORF2, ATV, Puls TV and Austria 9 TV.

Everyone who has an ORF smart card can try the new service for free for one month; after which a subscription costs EUR 7.90 monthly with a minimum contract of twelve months.

AustriaSats complete line-up will consist of AXN, Animax, kabeleins classics, Sat.1 Comedy, RTL Living, MTV Music, MTV Rocks, MTV Dance, MTV Hits, VH-1, Sportdigital.tv, Hustler TV, Marcel Dorcel TV and Alpenglhen (so sexy ist die Heimat). More channels will be added in the near future.

The launch of the AustriaSat platform was originally announced last September. AustriaSat is part of the M7 Group, who also operates Canal Digitaal in The Netherlands, TV Vlaanderen in Belgium and TeleSat in Belgium and Luxembourg.
