Panasonic introduce entire 2009 plasma TV range

With the likes of their high end Z1 plasma screen, Panasonic have given us some tantalizing glimpses of what they have in store for us this year; They have now unveiled the whole range of Plasma screens for 2009.

Panasonic's 'Viera Cast' technology makes its debut on a number of screens (Z1, V10 and the G15 series), allowing users to access online content through their TVs. Content comes from media partners such as Bloomberg, YouTube, EuroSport and Picasa Web Albums. Content is streamed over a home network via Ethernet.

All models in the Z1 series, V10 series, G15 and G10 series are Freesat enabled and feature Panasonic's 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro. It is worth noting that the frame rate is not comparable to an LCD 600Hz refresh rate.

The flagship Z1 plasma screens offer 46in (TX-P46Z1) and 54in (TX-P54Z1) sizes and feature a super slim 1in design along with full-HD wireless transmission technology. The Z1 has a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a dynamic contrast of over 2,000,000:1. Both models also feature THX certification along with home networking and DLNA / DivX playback.

The V10 Series, available in 42in and 50in sizes offer Full HD resolutions and a claimed dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. They are both THX certified and feature Viera Cast and Viera Image Viewer, which enable users to play back still and motion images from a digital camera or camcorder).

The G15 Series features a slim design, Viera Cast, Viera Image Viewer, and DLNA connectivity. The G15 line will be available in 42in (TX-P42G15), and 46in (TX-P46G15) sizes.

The G10 Series boasts a claimed 2,000,000:1 (native 40,000:1) contrast ratio. G10 models also offer VIERA Link and the VIERA Image Viewer. Three sizes will be available: the 42in (TX-P42G10), 46in (TX-P46G10), and 50in (TX-P50G10).

Panasonic's S10 screens are entry level Full HD models, available in 42in (TX-P42S10), 46in (TX-P46S10), and 50in (TX-P50S10) sizes. Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro goes down to 400Hz.

The X10 HD-Ready plasmas feature 100Hz Double Scan, a claimed dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, Viera Link along with Viera Image Viewer. Models include the 37in (TX-P37X10), 42in (TX-P42X10), and 50in (TX-P50X10).

Finally, the C10 Series features 37in (TX-P37C10), 42in (TX-P42C10), and 50in (TX-P50C10) sizes. All of the screens are HD-Ready and include Viera Image Viewer and Viera Link.

Panasonic have yet to confirm launch dates and prices.
