Sk'y challenges BT Vision adverts
There has been a long running campaign by BT Vision, where they seem to compare their service directly to that of Sk'y, or that is how Sk'y sees it.
The advert promotes the BT Vision service and the one month’s free subscription to the sports channel Setanta.
Sk'y believed that the claims in the adverts directly compare the services provided by Sk'y, except for the fact that the cost of Setanta Sports is not a great deal cheaper through BT Vision.
The other and probably more important point is that BT use the term “Sk'y High”, and as Sk'y is well known for providing top football through Sk'y Sports, then there is an indirect comparison there.
The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has got involved in this now and they have decided that Sk'y are right, and as result have told BT Vision that this advert should not be shown again, which is a bit of blow to this long running series of adverts which star Kris Marshall.
