German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland is to downsize its 3D offering: from the new Bundesliga season, only one live game per month from Germany's first division football league will be transmitted in 3D format.
Sky has so far been showing one match per weekend in 3D. The reduction takes place in accordance with national football association Deutsche Fußball Liga, following the withdrawal of Deutsche Telekom as a 3D live broadcast partner, a Sky spokesman told Rapid TV News.
After the loss of the Bundesliga rights (http://www.rapidtvnews.com/index.php...aboration.html
), Telekom decided not to show 3D games on its IPTV platform Entertain any more. Both Sky and Telekom used to screen one 3D match per week.
As the first 3D game of the new Bundesliga season, Sky will transmit the match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen on 25 August 2012.
