Eight top-ranking executives at South Korea’s second-largest public broadcaster MBC have offered to quit, two months after the firm’s largest shareholder demanded the chief executive officer step down over allegations of poor management. MBC CEO Ohm Ki-young and seven board members tendered their resignations to the Foundation for Broadcast Culture, officials said. The foundation is the largest shareholder in the broadcaster with a 70 percent stake.
“Board members will discuss the matter at an upcoming meeting on Thursday,” the foundation’s chief executive Kim Woo-ryong said.
