Universal Channel will today launch in Turkey on the D-Smart DTH satellite platform.

Colin McLeod, managing director, Central & Eastern Europe, NBC Universal Global Networks described the launch as a big step for the companys expansion in emerging markets.

The Turkish schedule will include 30 Rock, House, Law & Order, The Office, Flipping Out and Monk together with major Hollywood movies.

McLeod added that NBC Universal was looking at bringing some of the companies other brands to Turkey, such as Syfy channel (the former Sci Fi), where he believed there was significant demand.
