Video International strengthens position

Video International (VI) has strengthened its position as Russia’s leading ad sales house still further by signing an exclusive five-year deal with the National Media Group (NMG).

As a result, according to Kommersant, it will sell adverting for both Ren TV and Petersburg-Fifth Channel.

VI already controls some 60% of all TV ad sales in Russia and only a few days ago renewed a contract with Channel One, Russia’s leading broadcaster.

VI’s only real competitor is a partnership between Gazprom and a company named Alkazar.

Its contract with Ren TV and Petersburg-Fifth Channel expires at the end of this year, after which it will only sell advertising for NTV, TNT and TV Center.
