Strijd tegen cardsharing in Benelux lijkt nu echt begonnen / "Battle against sharing" - 07-July-2009, 14:48

Strijd tegen cardsharing in Benelux lijkt nu echt begonnen

A google translation for the non dutch speakers:

Combating card herring in Benelux seems really started

The fight against herring card is now also in Belgium and the Netherlands started. In recent weeks in these two countries made several raids. The focus was in Belgium. There, the Economic Inspectorate in charge of TV Vlaanderen raids at businesses and individuals. These were also the official TV Vlaanderen dealers. This sold to satellite receivers that have the possibility to use different protocols, including cccam and mgcamd to her card and pay annual subscriptions to various service provider in Europe to see. The most important invasion of Belgium was against company public through Internet and payment card herring supply.

The raids are to Satellite TV Vlaanderen Magazine confirmed. Big setback for the company was still one of their own topdealers caught on selling prepared satellite receivers that after payment of fee by the purchaser, channels of the most visible European pay-TV providers. The exposure to companies making TV Vlaanderen use of private detectives who actually made a purchase. Various satellite business in Flanders was even without the purchase of an illegal satellite subscription card herring decreasing.

The biggest battle that really hit TV Vlaanderen was an unspecified published Belgian town. There was a professional organization who are up including the one known card herring Internet site dealing with a Europe-wide sales of herring card subscriptions. The raids in this case are multiple servers and associated equipment were seized. The organization was so professional that a support structure was where the "subscriber" fee even within one hour answer and / or could get help in solving problems. The site is from the time of the invasion is no longer accessible. TV Vlaanderen has also to various individuals in the Netherlands and Belgium to do raids. It attracted the Flemish television service together with the Dutch big brother Canal Digital. In all private cases involving suspects who were using Internet sites herring card subscriptions offered.

All suspects are in addition to a possible civil prosecution also addressed. Not only TV Vlaanderen and Canal Digitaal to recover lost revenue. Also European pay-TV providers and CanalSat, Sky UK, Sky Italia and UPC Digital + to do this for all defendants. In addition to paying suppliers are also companies such as encryption Kudelski, Irdeto and Viaccess, the revenue loss that has been trying to stories.

Especially on the Internet are several active forums where individuals come into contact with each other to own subscription cards with others. Here you can in the coming months action television providers throughout Europe. The openness on the latest action TV Vlaanderen want everyone involved in card herring engaged a clear sign that it is serious about the evaporation of this new phenomenon that television providers in Europe on an annual multi-million euros of revenue costs. In the coming time to television providers in various countries in Europe, and especially the Benelux countries, more similar actions to perform.

Well, this action was only a matter of time.. Something we were already warned about to happen..

well we will see how bad it gets in Belgium.

I have always known that in Belgium most sat shops operate pay servers in the back of their shops.

I even knew of a turk sat shop, where the turk owner was generating 180.000€/year of revenues through his pay servers. All this tax free (black market).

It was a matter of time to clean up all this.

The question is: are they going to go against the little guys who do this for fun, as a hobby?

Future will tell.

This is a bit like downloading music.
Would record companies loose money because of that?
In my days I downloaded music I spent loads on buying, because I got in touch with easy accessible new bands I never heard of before

Compare the downloading to buying a copied cd on black markets... yes the buyers could have spent money on the artist instead, this could be considered as losses

In the "hobby cardsharing" there are indeed people who buy cards because they are worth having it, these are extra incomes for the sat companies.
I buy even loads of sat equipment just because it is possible, doesn't mean I watch all those 5000 channels, tv is still mainly boring, but it's a more interesting hobby to me than collecting stamps. I just want to catch all the beams which are being shot in my garden unrequested :P

A payserverclient could have spent money on a subscription and a payserver itself has illegal income where no tax has been payed over. This draws the attention of many companies not only sat companies but also the tax agency

Sat companies make it themselves also impossible for some to get a subscription, they raise prices and for what? More crap or even when they drop a few channels.
When you live in the UK you can't get a NL subscription.

My biggest respect for many arabic channels they are everywhere and most for free. Not that I know if they are any interesting ;)

Sat reception and card sharing are plain fun.

But i don't watch more tv.

And yes, there are times where I don't find anything to watch, despite 5000 channels.

Cardsharing is a good way to get the channels you normally wouldn't be able to get even if you WANT to pay for it. If you're from Belgium and you would like to watch for example Dutch tv. Cardsharing is a good solution to share subscriptions. The dutchy gets belgian tv you get dutch tv. Even if you want to pay for a subscription, you are even unable to get one. They force you to live in that country. So they first need to make it available to everyone who wants to pay for it instead of giving those people fines.

If they put people in jail and give fines which only share cards to earn money out of it. That's good. I totally agree with that. Put them all in jail. The more the better. As long as people share for free without making profit, it's not a big deal. That's my opinion.
