Film Four

The Iron Petticoat (U) 1956 Bob Hope stars as a US Air Force officer who tries to convince renowned Russian pilot Katharine Hepburn of the benefits of life in the West. Enjoyable military comedy hampered by a few bumpy patches, but the sparks fly between leading pair Hope and Hepburn surprising really, since their off-screen relationship was notoriously acrimonious. James Robertson Justice and Robert Helpmann co-star (888)

Moulin Rouge (PG) 1952 Stylish biopic exploring the life and love affairs of famed painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Jose Ferrer's portrayal of the artist is superb, but the real star of the film is Colette Marchand, who won an Oscar for her performance as Marie Charlet, a prostitute he becomes infatuated with. Produced and co-written by John Huston and based on a best-selling fictionalised biography by Pierre La Mure. Zsa Zsa Gabor and Peter Cushing co-star (888)

Girls! Girls! Girls! (U) 1962 King of rock 'n' roll Elvis Presley stars in this musical as a tuna fisherman with an eye for the ladies. Unfortunately, he's faced with the age-old dilemma as he tries to decide which lucky girl deserves his attentions but he's distracted from the pursuit of pleasure when his jealous rival ensures he loses his boat. With Stella Stevens, Laurel Goodwin and Jeremy Slate

Jingle All the Way (PG) 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger might look somewhat ruefully on this comical attempt to shake off his action-man image, but even though it's hardly the sparkling affair he might have hoped for, it has proved marginally more successful than similar outing Kindergarten Cop. It's a frivolously festive affair in which Schwarzenegger plays a workaholic attempting to make up for his perpetual absence from home by promising to buy his son a massively popular action figure for Christmas little realising every other father in town has the same idea. Sinbad co-stars as another harassed dad vying for the toy, with Jake Lloyd, Rita Wilson, Robert Conrad and Phil Hartman (888)

William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (12) 1996 Baz Luhrmann's exuberant adaptation of the famous romantic tale. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes take the lead roles of the star-cross'd lovers torn apart by their feuding families, who go to desperate lengths to ensure they'll be together for ever. Excellent support comes courtesy of Pete Postlethwaite, Brian Dennehy, John Leguizamo, Paul Sorvino and Miriam Margolyes (888)

Birth (15) 2004 A widow finds her world turned upside down by an encounter with a mysterious 10-year-old boy who claims to be the reincarnation of her dear departed husband. Intriguing mystery drama, starring Nicole Kidman, Lauren Bacall, Cameron Bright and Danny Huston (888)

The Eye (15) 2002 A blind woman is thrilled when new technological advances allow her to undergo a corneal transplant so that she is able to see again. However, as her vision returns, increasingly disturbing sights leave her almost too terrified to open her eyes. Chilling psychological horror, directed by brothers Oxide and Danny Pang, starring Lee Sin-Je, Lawrence Chou, Chutcha Rujinanon and Candy Lo
