1.00pm The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill, But Came Down a Mountain (PG) 1995 Hugh Grant and Ian McNeice star as English cartographers whose map-making plans are thwarted by Welsh villagers determined to stop them downgrading the status of their local mountain. This charming comedy drama benefits from a top-drawer cast, which also includes Tara Fitzgerald, Colm Meaney, Ian Hart, Robert Blythe and Kenneth Griffith (888)

2.50pm Monkey Business (U) 1952 Bumbling scientist Cary Grant develops a serum to halt the aging process, but a mischievous monkey pours it into the water system and he reverts to childhood, along with his wife, boss and secretary. Screwball comedy, also starring Ginger Rogers, Charles Coburn and Marilyn Monroe

4.45pm The Man Who Knew Too Little (12) 1997 Dim-witted American Bill Murray heads to London to visit his wealthy brother, who's arranged for him to participate in a murder mystery break but unwittingly gets involved with real killers, enemy agents and corrupt government officials bent on mayhem. Good-natured comedy, with Joanne Whalley and Peter Gallagher

6.35pm 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (U) 1954 A Victorian scientist investigating the sinking of ships in the Pacific is captured by fanatical submariner Captain Nemo, and whisked away on a series of adventures in his amazing underwater craft. Wonderful and inventive fantasy which scooped an Oscar for the special effects. The excellent cast includes Kirk Douglas as a gung-ho adventurer, while James Mason is suitably intense as the power-hungry seaman. Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre also star

9.00pm Sleepy Hollow (15) 1999 Tim Burton's stylish take on Washington Irving's classic tale, about a headless horseman terrorising a quiet village community, starring Johnny Depp as sceptical investigating officer Ichabod Crane. His arrival is greeted with suspicion and it's not long before his presence causes ructions not least when he shows more than just a professional interest in the daughter of a local elder. Eerily atmospheric chiller, with Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson and Michael Gambon (888)

11.00pm Wrong Turn (18) 2003 Six luckless travellers get stranded in the middle of nowhere, and resolve to work together to get through the night. However, they soon stumble across a trio of cannibalistic mountain men, hideously mutated by years of inbreeding, and are forced to fight for their lives. Horror, starring Eliza Dushku, Desmond Harrington and Jeremy Sisto (888)

12.35am Ed Gein (15) 2000 Biopic of the mass murderer and cannibal. Gein shared his isolated home with his overbearing, religious mother, but her death sent him on a frenzied series of killings and grave robbings which horrified Fifties Wisconsin and went on to inspire films such as Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Steve Railsback, Carrie Snodgress and Ryan Thomas star (888)

2.15am Never Die Alone (18) 2004 A journalist witnesses a shooting, and takes the victim to a hospital. The wounded man dies, but leaves all his possessions to the reporter, including a set of audio tapes on which he's recorded his life story. A series of flashbacks reveal the dead man was actually a notorious drug dealer, and explore his rise to power in the underworld and his ultimate decision to renounce a life of crime and start afresh. But leaving the past behind isn't easy. Hard-hitting crime thriller, starring DMX, David Arquette and Drew Sidora
