Sky Select

August 24 to August 31

A Dangerous Method (Eine dunkle Begierde)

Starring Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Sarah Gadon and Vincent Cassel.
Set in the days leading up to World War I, this dark truth-based story explores the dynamics of the intense relationship between iconic psychiatrist Sigmund Freud, his student Carl Jung, and the troubled but beautiful young woman that comes between them. Their story, paired with a debauched patient determined to push the boundaries, played a pivotal role in the birth of psychoanalysis and virtually defined the practice of psychiatry as we know it today.

American Reunion (American Pie: Das Klassentreffen)

Starring Jason Biggs, Shannon Elizabeth, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Natasha Lyonne, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid and Seann William Scott.
In American Reunion, all the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn't and that time and distance can't break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler's mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about - and get inspired by - the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.

Starring Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgrd, Rihanna , Brooklyn Decker, Hamish Linklater, Tadanobu Asano and Josh Pence.
Based on Hasbro's classic naval combat game, an international Navy fleet becomes the planet's last line of defense when an alien species called The Regents attempts to invade Earth to build a power source in the ocean. Lieutenant Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) is assigned to the ship USS John and winds up commanding the team responsible for repelling the invaders before it's too late. In the daunting mission, Hopper must also try to live up to the potential his brother Stone (Alexander Skarsgard) and his fiance's father, Admiral Shane (Liam Neeson), expect of him.

Big Miracle (Der Ruf der Wale)

Starring Drew Barrymore, John Krasinksi, Kristen Bell, Dermot Mulroney, Tim Blake Nelson and Ted Danson.
A newsman Adam Carlson (John Krasinski) working in the northern tip of Alaska has just about run out of stories to report on when a family of endangered gray whales are trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle. The news brings his ex-girlfriend, Greenpeace volunteer and avid environmentalist Rachel Kramer (Drew Barrymore) to the rescue. Her efforts help bring attention to the whales' plight, not only from hordes of interested onlookers racing to the area, but from local politicians. However, what Rachel and Adam need most of all is cooperation from both the American and Russian governments if the whales are to survive.

Black Gold

Starring Tahar Rahim, Mark Strong, Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Riz Ahmed, Jamal Awar, Lotfi Dziri, Eriq Ebouaney and Mostafa Gaafar.
Multinational coffee companies now rule our shopping malls and supermarkets and dominate the industry worth over $80 billion, making coffee the most valuable trading commodity in the world after oil. But while we continue to pay for our lattes and cappuccinos, the price paid to coffee farmers remains so low that many have been forced to abandon their coffee fields. Nowhere more evident is this paradox than in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. Tadesse Meskela is a man on a mission to save his 75,000 struggling coffee farmers from bankruptcy. As his farmers strive to harvest some of the highest quality coffee beans on the international market, Tadesse travels the world in an attempt to find buyers willing to pay a fair price. Against the backdrop of Tadesse's journey to London and Seattle, the more powerful sides of the international trading system begin to unfold. New York coffee traders, auction houses and the double dealings of trade ministers at the World Trade Organization reveal the enormity of Tadesse's task to find a long term solution for his farmers.

Starring Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, Michael B. Jordan and Michael Kelly.
Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.
