Amiko Shd-8900 Alien - 19-December-2011, 10:43

Hi guys !
While I was searching for linux based satellite receivers I found one named AMIKO SHD-8900 (h**p://www.tele-satellite-global.com/TELE-satellite-1105/eng/amiko.pdf).
It has a plenty of features and it supports also dual boot, which means you can install a separate image(ex. E2) different than Spark which is the official one.
The beauty of that doesn't finish here,it has a very good price which goes from 140 - 170 Euro !
Does anyone tried this receiver ?

Cheers!

Today I tested one (SHD-8900) which I have flashed with E2 and at the first glance everything looks ok. I'll still make some tests and I'll post the results.

Cheers!

Question 21-December-2011, 17:17

Hi
I bought the Amiko Alien 8900HD recently, and hopefully you can help me! (Sorry I am a beginner)
Please does my Amiko Alien Embedded Card Reader support the Al Jazeera sport card? Or do I need to purchase an extra cam for this card?
Which E2 software did you used for your receiver? Is there any guide for me to fallow? Thank you.

I don't know if the reader of Alien support the encryption system of Al Jazeera.
The embedded card reader is conax.
The E2 which I used to flash was downloaded from h**p://sat-support.org
I can assist you with teamviewer if you like.

Cheers!

It looks that the E2 image is not quite " happy" with embedded cccam.
It freezes too many times and it looks that cccam access only the first server in cccam.cfg for every caid even that a second server can offer a caid in the first hop. The cccam version is 2.1.4.
Apart cccam e2 image has also oscam ,but I still didn't tried it.

Cheers!

My advice for it is : DO NOT BUY IT !
It looks that it has many problems with freezing caused maybe by its drivers.

Cheers!
