Diablo Cam Wifi 2.3 can't find access point - 08-June-2010, 21:38

I bought a Diablo Wifi 2.3. It is shipped with firmware 1.82.
I have a Samsung LE-32B530 TV.
I don't have a programmer for the Diablo (yet).

When I plug it in my TV and open the menu to scan for Access Points, it seems like it stays in the menu "AP scanning in progress..." forever.

After a few minutes, my TV returns from the menu except when I keep pressing down (then it stays in the scanning menu forever, or at least 10 minutes).

Does anyone know what can cause this issue? Can it be related to the firmware revision?
Do I need a programmer to install the Underworld firmware anyway? (even when I have WiFi up and running)
Is it possible to configure WiFi with the programmer?

Edit: I also noticed that the CAM is getting quite hot, I guess about 60 deg C. Is this normal?

P4 Ubuntu 10.04 cardserver with Smargo and CCcam 2.1.2
Core 2 Quad Ubuntu 11.04 with two budget-DVB-C and MythTV
Dreambox 500 C (Clone)
Dreambox 800 with cable tuner (Clone)

Dear Tomvleeuwen,
The only way to change the firmware or access the CAM filesystem is via the programmer (I am using CAS Interface 3+). You can not update the CAM via Wi-Fi. There is quite easy tool to change the wireless settings with te CAS interface and Cas Interface Studio 8.7.1 software. The CAM is getting really hot so if you can the best thing is to install a fan in the receiver that blows directly on the CAM. Hope it helps.
Regards,
Pavel
