Eagle & Virgin Media Internet

Hi.

Has anyone on here who is in the UK got an Eagle box
connected & working using VM Media Cable Internet ?

Just wondered if yes, what set up you have.

Basically , i have a DM800hd which is also my server & when i connect my
Eagle box to that server using an ADSL line (Telephone) , the Eagle connects no problems & can see about 140 cards & can open up channels as normal.

But when i take the Eagle down the road & connect it to VM Cable (DSL) line, then it appears to see a server but does not see any cards.
I have tried using the direct IP numbers & also the Dns server name but both ways say that the server is offline & (0) cards available.

I have obviously changed the IP setting etc in the comms set up in the eagle
& it sees the server but says the server is offline but i know it's not offline.

Just wondered if there is a problem with the Eagle using VM Cable to connect to the Internet & if anyoine has it working using Cable Internet then please let us share your configs , settings etc.

Hi,
When you go to your different location, have you made sure the correct ports are open on the router?
Btw the eagle has no issues with VM

I will check this out.

I have tried typing in the router ip address in the web browser to bring up the router settings but it doesn't appear to like it.

The router Ip address is like this...

82.21.224 **

When i am at home i can get into my router no problem which is
192.168.1.1 which is a standard IP address for a telephone line enabled
router.

I guess i need to get into the VM router settings to see whats happening.

Right.

I have discovered the router is an NTL 250. Gone into it by
192.168.100.1 yet, DCC sees the router as 82.**.224.1

Anyway, gone into it & there is no option to change anything.

You just get the current status of things & no options for ports or to change anything.

Think this is an old router. Might need to get a newer model.

Hi, did you fix your issue?

DCC is not working as the router is not accepting external port traffic. If you were to telnet into the router you should be able to set up port rules even though you don't have the option when you http into the router.

or use the AMBIT 250 CONFIG TOOL, it may be of some help, so you can modify the config of your ntl 250 router.
