Help - Eagle 1000S - 25-August-2010, 02:51

Soon after getting my Eagle 1000S, channels started to disappear and I was advised by my "supplier" to do a transponder scan. After needing to do a few scans my receiver started "seizing up" and today reached a complete freeze.
Unpluging it no longer gets a reaction. I'm convinced the repeated scans created a kind of "overload" and nothing seems to bring it to life. I'm thinking of unpluging from the mains and disconnecting the satellite cable overnight... and keep my fingers crossed :)
As you can see I'm a newbie in these matters and would appreciate any help.
Is it possible to find a manual for this Eagle 1000S machine?

Follow this idiot guide to reflash your box:

Flashing your Eagle

1 Before making any connections from your Pc to the Eagle switch off both your Eagle and PC.

2 Start universal DreamUp and make sure the Use Network option is unticked.

3 Now select your serial com port and then click connect, a status massage will be displayed saying the connections prepared now switch on the Dreambox. Do this by either switching back on the power at the plug socket or putting the power cord back into the power socket at the rear of your Eagle.

4 Now select Flash and point DreamUp to were you have your unrared Eagle V5 image (or any other image you want to use) and click open, the upload will now start. This will take around 12 minutes.

5 After the flash has completed click disconnect and power down then power up the box.

6 Time to get sat in front of the TV! As your box boots youll see the Eagle Screen come up maybe a couple of times.

7 At the Pal Screen Select Pal or the system your TV uses and then press the green button on your remote to save.

8 Select your language and press the ok button.

9 Select your time zone and press the green button to save.

10 Youll now see the Diseqc Setup menu and have 3 options to choose from
No Diseqc for a single LNB Setup.
Simple For a the setup of 2 Lnbs
Complex for Diseqc 1.2 or Usuals/Goto X

I use a V Box so i choose Complex and Many Satellites with Diseqc Rotor. Then press the green button to save.

11 If you want to use usuals keeps the goto x box ticked and enter your Longitude and latitude and press the green button to save.

12 Now select Auto Transponder Scan. This will scan all available transponders till a valid one is found. When found press green to scan. When the scan is complete press ok.At this point you can now scan another satellite with a press of the green button or red not to. Later on in this tutorial ill be explaining how to transfer channel setting so you dont really need to.

13 Click exit and select a channel free to air to view. Now press the menu button-option5-reboot now, this will save your settings.
Thats the flash and initial setup complete. So we will now move on to Communication settings.

Communication Settings

To find out you network IP settings on your PC click-Start then run and in the box type cmd.
Now type ipconfig and enter.

Youll be presented with info like this.

Connection-specific DNS Suffix
IP Address................. 192.168.1.154 This is your PCs IP
Subnet Mask..............255.255.255.0
Default Gateway.........192.168.1.1 This is your Routers IP

Ok this part of the guide only applies if you are using a router to connect you Eagle to your LAN and the internet.

1 Press Menu-Setup-Expert-Setup Communication.

2 Untick DHCP

3 Enter IP you choose this just make sure it is within your routers IP range for this go 1 above your PCs IP example 192.168.1.155.

4 Netmask 255.255.255.0

5 Your Name sever and gateway will be the same and are your router IP address.
Nameserver 192.168.1.1
Gateway 192.168.1.1

6 Make sure network is ticked and press green button to save.

7 Now press the menu button-option5-reboot now, this will save your settings.
