Linux PC with SAT DVB-T cccam capable? - 22-December-2009, 14:47

I want to buy a small PC and a DVB-T card. Is it possible to turn this PC in a receiver using linux? I want to use CCCam for this PC.

Is something like this possible and if so, where can I find more information.
I can find a lot about Debian Linux cccam servers, but not linux cccam clients.

Hope someone can help me out...

BTW I want to use my PC to connect to my dreambox 500S through cccam

Yes, it's possible. You have two options:

1. Windows using a CCcam client (Hadu/ACamd)
2. Linux using VDR/vdr-sc or MythTV/sasc-ng

Currently I'm testing option 1 with MCE7, DVBLink TVSource and the Hadu CCcam client. It works very stable and it's quite fast.

Option 2 is my favorite by far in combination with the VDR/vdr-sc option. Stable, fast but yes, it uses Linux and it's not for the faint harted.
