Xtrend et6000 bootloader. - 01-February-2012, 00:17

Got the box today, all is well on fixed dish. Small problem though when trying to install the bootloader by USB. Put the file on USB stick, renamed it to et5000, put it on box then powered off and on. Orange light came on , I pressed the channel - button on the box, then after a second or two it went into start up, i.e green and red lights took over. Could it have loded that fast? How do I know if bootloader loaded? Dont want to flash image yet if it hasnt.

Yes that sounds normal, it only takes seconds to load a new bootloader unlike firmware which take a 1-2mins (approx).

Yes the bootloader loading performs faster ,but I'm afraid d that you have to name the folder in your usb stick not et5000 but et5x00. That was my experience with ET5000. Maybe it is the same with ET6000.

Cheers!

Download the latest bootloader from the et-view.com site.

Extract all ET6000 files to USB, including the folder,
startup the ET6000 an when asked press the up button.
Flash will take about 10 seconds. Reboots automatically.

If that, is not working try renaming the ET6000 folder to ET6x00.

good luck!

When you are upgrading the bootloader on the ET6000 you actually have two folders on the USB stick, one called et5000 and one called et6000, they both need to be there for the purpose of updating to the latest bootloader, once that's done any future firmware updates will be in a folder called et6x00.
