"Sorry, you must have javascript enabled" - 22-June-2008, 22:10

I get the message:
"Sorry, you must have javascript enabled to view this site"

whenever I try to access the site from my PC. I've tried with IE7 and FF3, and both give the same error. Javascript is enabled, as are cookies, and I've even tried placing the site in the trusted servers list with no security, but get the same problem!
I can access the site fine from a Mac on the same network.

Any ideas?

2 things could cause this.............

1. you have some corrupted html/js cached files on your pc
(delete all temp internet files to fix)

2. you are using some type of virus / spyware / browser program on that
pc which automatically strips out or blocks all javascript
(this would cause any browser used on that pc to fail)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

nothing else comes to mind , apart with some other serious issue with your o/s

i've had this problem too for many months, from the first time i looked at this site.
It only happens in Konqueror - I have to fire up Firefox to view the site.
Konqueror has no problem with other javascript sites - I use it for everything else (almost).
The problem remains if I tell Konqueror to change the agent headers to Firefox, or IE.

It's very annoying and should get fixed.

Sorry to reply to myself, but I've just tried to track down this problem.
Most (every?) page on the site starts the body of the html with this silly stuff (hope this html displays ok):
<body> <div id="nojscript" align="center"> <strong>Sorry, you must have javascript enabled to view this site.</strong> </div> <div id="noproxy" style="display:none" align="center"> <strong>Proxies are NOT allowed! Redirecting...</strong> </div> <div id="hiddenbody" style="display:none">

That last div causes the problem (but the message comes from the first one).
If I remove '<div id="hiddenbody" style="display:none">', everything seems to work fine.

Hope that's enough for your web coders to fix it.
