aditional hd to dm800 ?

Hi, after browsing the topic I'm still buzzeld.
My dm800 (2008-) seems not to recognize the LaCie 500Gb exxternal disc connected to usb after boot.
The internal 320Gb disc is under /dev/ide/... and umount/mount is executed as described in this forum.

So is it possible to make external LaCie visible in addition to internal and how?
Have used the disc with my SuSe desktop without problems for some time.

Btw there is /dev/ide.. but no /dev/scsi. There is a /dev/sci0 instead, but nothing more in there.

ps. telnet and Samba are working fine with my dm800
